Samuel Chen is a Research Analyst on the Emerging Markets Equities team with a focus on materials, energy and telecommunications in Asia. Prior to joining the team in 2019, he was a senior research associate at AB Bernstein, where he covered Asia-Pacific telecommunications, semiconductors and electric vehicle supply chains. Before joining the firm in 2017, Chen founded Chenstone Analytics, a data analytics firm focused on quantitative portfolio analysis, and held lead quantitative roles with Periscope Capital and Genus Capital Management. He holds a BS in computer science from Western University, an MA in economics from the University of Toronto, an MS in computer science from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from INSEAD.
