Mark Pearson was appointed a Director of AllianceBernstein (AB) in 2011. He is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Equitable Holdings, which comprises Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company, a leading financial-services firm, and AB, a leading investment-management and research firm. Pearson also serves as Chairman and CEO of Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company. Under his leadership, Equitable Holdings has been dedicated to helping clients retire with dignity, protect their families and prepare for their financial future with confidence. Prior to his current role, Pearson served from 2008 to 2011 as president and CEO of AXA Japan. He joined AXA (now Equitable) in 1995, when it acquired National Mutual Funds Management Ltd., and was appointed regional chief executive of AXA Asia Life in 2001. Pearson holds several board positions within the Equitable Holdings family of companies, including Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company, Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company of America and AB. Before joining the Equitable family, he spent 20 years in the insurance sector, assuming senior management positions at Hill Samuel, Schroders, National Mutual Funds Management Ltd. and Friends Provident. Pearson is a Chartered Certified Accountant of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
