Cathy Spencer is AB’s Chief People Officer. She leads the teams responsible for advancing the employee experience for all of AB’s people. This includes oversight of analytics, benefits, employee relations, compensation, culture, dining, learning and engagement, people operations, talent acquisition and talent management, workplace operations, workplace productivity, and onsite excellence throughout the firm’s global footprint, serving more than 4,000 staff members. Since 2018 Spencer has overseen the transition of US staff to the firm’s new Nashville headquarters, as well as the recruiting and onboarding of local hires. She joined AB in 1997 and has held a variety of roles, from overseeing global talent and organizational development to managing global employee relations. Spencer was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2008, when she assumed the role of head of Human Resources, which she held for 10 years. Spencer holds a BS in journalism from the University of Maryland and an MA in human resource development from the George Washington University. Location: Nashville
