James T. Tierney, Jr. is Chief Investment Officer of Concentrated US Growth. Prior to joining AB in December 2013, he was CIO at W.P. Stewart & Co. Tierney began his career in 1988 in equity research at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, where he analyzed entertainment, healthcare and finance companies. He left J.P. Morgan in 1990 to pursue an MBA and returned in 1992 as a senior analyst covering energy, transportation, media and entertainment. Tierney joined W.P. Stewart in 2000. He holds a BS in finance from Providence College and an MBA from Columbia Business School at Columbia University. Location: New York
Ben Ruegsegger is a Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst on the Sustainable Thematic Equities team. He was appointed Portfolio Manager on AB’s Sustainable US Thematic strategy in 2017 and on the global and international strategies in 2023. In this role, he assists the chief investment officer in managing a suite of geographically diverse strategies aligned to long-term sustainable themes. In addition, Ruegsegger is a veteran thematic investor and serves as a Senior Research Analyst on the Sustainable Thematic Equities portfolios, where he is responsible for covering global technology. Prior to joining the AB Sustainable Thematic Equities team in 2008, he covered the financial and consumer discretionary sectors on AB’s US Mid Cap Growth team. Ruegsegger began his career at AB in 2001. He holds a BA in economics and finance from Eastern University and is a CFA charterholder. Location: Philadelphia
John H. Fogarty is a Senior Vice President and Co-Chief Investment Officer for US Growth Equities. He rejoined the firm in 2006 as a fundamental research analyst covering consumer-discretionary stocks in the US, having previously spent nearly three years as a hedge fund manager at Dialectic Capital Management and Vardon Partners. Fogarty began his career at AB in 1988, performing quantitative research, and joined the US Large Cap Growth team as a generalist and quantitative analyst in 1995. He became a portfolio manager in 1997. Fogarty holds a BA in history from Columbia University and is a CFA charterholder. Location: New York
