Supporting Our Communities

AB’s commitment to serving and supporting our communities worldwide is stronger than ever. Our holistic approach to giving back follows a five-pillared strategy: philanthropy, volunteering, board participation, gift matching and civic engagement. It connects our people and resources to charitable organizations that work every day to meet our communities' most pressing needs.

Since announcing the relocation of AB’s headquarters to Nashville, Tennessee in 2019, the firm—together with our people—has donated nearly $34 million to charitable organizations worldwide.

Engaging Our People and Leveraging Our Resources to Support AB’s Communities Worldwide

Serving Our Communities

At AB, our people are at the heart of partnerships with communities and organizations worldwide. Beyond grantmaking, our colleagues offer their time, networks, resources, and insights. With their generosity, they help unlock opportunity for organizations working daily to meet our neighbors’ most pressing needs and our communities’ most complex problems. We’re excited for what 2024 holds: expanding AB’s global philanthropic footprint, creating even more year-round volunteer opportunities and exploring new ways to give back.

Making a Difference: Spotlight on Charitable Giving

Black and Latino Achievers at the YMCA Community Action Program

In 2019, AB made an investment in the Black and Latino Achievers program at the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, which focuses on helping under-resourced students access a college education. Our grant provided dedicated funding for a new Pathway Navigator role. It enabled the YMCA staff to transform its approach, increasing the amount of scholarships earned by 10 times year over year. From 2019 to 2024, students have secured more than $6 million in funds to help them succeed in college.

Helping Meet Our Communities' Most Pressing Needs

AB employees in our new Pune office organized their first AB Gives Back volunteering initiative, supporting a local orphanage. The Dharmaveer Shambhuraje Anathalaya has aided orphan children and their families since 1996, and its unsafe playground required major renovation. Volunteers worked in two shifts to excavate, cement and beautify the playground area, helping create a space for children to learn, play and grow. Colleagues finished the day by joining the children in music, dance and drawing.

We’re committed to forming meaningful, holistic partnerships that engage our people and leverage our resources for a higher purpose—supporting AB’s communities worldwide.
