Matthew Coghlan is Walk Free’s Financial Sector Engagement Manager. He leads engagement with financial sector institutions in the Asia Pacific region, including banks, investors, stock exchanges and securities commissions. Coghlan coordinates the Investors Against Slavery and Trafficking Asia Pacific initiative. The initiative comprises 42 asset owners and asset managers from the region representing an AUM of A$9.4 trillion. The initiative also facilitates investor collaboration on policy advocacy and company engagement. The investors engage with 23 companies listed on seven regional stock exchanges to support them through finding, fixing and preventing modern slavery. Further, Walk Free and the Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking initiative are the initiative's knowledge partners. Coghlan organizes knowledge events for investors on legal developments, suppliers’ risks, business tools and engagement skills.
